The Cancer Care is Different Coalition, founded by City of Hope, is committed to advocating for policies that remove barriers to life-saving cancer care.

Cancer remains the second leading cause of death in the U.S. We live in a groundbreaking era of cancer care innovation, but not all patients benefit equally.

By joining the Coalition, you are joining us in our work to advocate for:

  1. Policies that recognize that Cancer Care is Different than other types of health care, because of the speed of discovery and cancer research, and the importance of early detection and optimal treatment for surviving cancer.
  2. A Cancer Patients Bill of Rights, which would declare that patients should be able to access the latest cancer research, treatments and expertise needed to beat their specific cancer type.
  3. Policies that expand access to cancer care, because no patient should be denied access to innovative treatments or expert care because of their location or means.
